Speedway Motorsports has struck a deal that paves the way for NASCAR’s return Nashville and for weekly racing to remain at the venerable short track.

The 2019 NASCAR season begins, as is custom, in Daytona Beach with the running of the Daytona 500.

Austin Dillon dumped Aric Amirola on the final lap to win the 2018 version of the event.

This will be the only race in 2019 with restrictor plates as NASCAR switches up Cup Series engines on all of its tracks larger than 1.2 miles, limiting engines to a maximum of 550 horsepower. That will be a stark difference from non-restrictor plate races last year, in which engines could produce 750 horsepower. Restrictor plates will limit engines to 400 horsepower this week.
